Monday Memo Week of March 28th

Essential Information                 

-MONDAY:  There will be a brief Department Chair Meeting this afternoon at 3:30-4:00 at the latest.  This is a "check-in" meeting.  My only set agenda item is to discuss SLO progress, data collection for this year, and expectations for next school year relative to SLOs.

-SCHEDULE THIS WEEK: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I will be doing classroom evaluations.

Please email your evaluator, Dr. Miller or Dr. Roberts to schedule a time for your full class period formal observation.  For Dr. Smith, please email Kathy Edwards to schedule your formal.

-HIRING PROCESS:  Thank you to everyone who participated and assisted with our teacher selection interviews.  At this time, we have recommended 7 candidates to the school board for our openings. I have also met with our teams who have the openings and worked with them to select the candidates who will specifically be joining each team.  Our candidates will be official after the first April school board meeting.  Recommendations to the BOE will be officially announced after approval from the Board of Education.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

We will hold interviews for a part time orchestra position for next year.  I will share more about this process soon, as the posting closes Monday the 28th.

Our Assistant Principal job posting closes on March 31st.  I will provide you an update and share my timeline sometime during the first full week of April, after the closing of this position.


-COMMON TIME TEAM UPDATE:  The team has created a video and student survey that was sent to Steger for our 6th graders to complete this week.  This is due to us by April 4th.  The common time team will meet again on the 11th to look at the staff and student data.  

We will also need our 7th grade teachers to have each student complete this survey during this time frame as well.  Students can be shown the video as a class if it makes it easier to facilitate the survey.  Here is the link to the survey, thank you.

-MAP Testing Dates

7th grade will be testing April 4-7 from 8:45 to 10:18am
8th grade will be testing April 4-11 from 1:30 to 3:15pm
