Upcoming high sub days

  • Wednesday, March 9 - 8 people out mostly due to a Social Studies PD day
  • Friday, April 15 - 12 people will be out that day

Important reminders

  • Staffing conversations will continue through next week and up to spring break until we are finished. If you have a question about anything staffing related, please ask a Hixson administrator directly.
  • When there are Takis or Sour Patch Kids available in the vending machine, we see an increase of students at the vending machines during class. If students are asking for your permission to go to the vending machine during class, please tell them no. Most students are probably asking for permission to go to the restroom and then visiting the vending machine instead. We will contact the vending machine company to ask them to turn them on only during certain times of the day. If they can't do this, then I will unplug them.
  • Please do not let your students leave Statesman Time early, and please do not let them wait in the hallway for the 3:25 pm bell to ring.
Book Fair information from Mrs. Tumminello
A few things about book fair next week:

1. Students will be looking for 4-leaf clovers in the hallways after  1st hour.  If they fight over the clovers or if the clovers are ripped or torn they lose all their luck and students won't be able to trade them in for a prize during statesmen time.  Each day 5 to 10 clovers will be placed in the halls.  Clovers will only be placed in public areas NOT classrooms.

2. All students will come to the bookfair through their team classes.  Please do not send them down on pass until next Thursday.  (ELA teachers if students forgot their money and need to come down after your team comes to the fair please send them only 1 or 2 at a time.)

3.  Teacher preview is today!  Please stop by and make a wish list to send home to parents.

4.  Scholastic is giving each teacher a $5.00 coupon good on any order over $20.00.

5.  We don't have a good track record with reorders right now so if you see something you really want to purchase I would not wait ...I may not be able to get you another copy.

Thank you so much for being supportive of our book fair!
