DOMAIN 1: HIXSON & COVID-19

The second round of the COVID-19 vaccination will be administered on Friday, April 9th, 2021. Below are a few details to keep in mind as you plan for the next event.

·         The Visiting Nurses Association will again administer the Pfizer vaccine.

·         Only those staff who received the first vaccination from the district on March 16th will be eligible to receive the second dose on April 9th.

·         The vaccination site will again be in Roberts Gym at Webster Groves High School.

·         The appointment time of your second vaccination will be the same as it was for your first.  Our HR department will send out a reminder to you of when you are scheduled to receive your shot. If for some reason that time will not work for you please reach out to Gwen Harris at hrc@wgmail.org to reschedule your appointment.

·         For your appointment you will again need to bring an ID, insurance card, and completed consent/health form AND the vaccination card you were given by the VNA medical professional who administered your first dose.

·         All non-virtual staff are expected to report to their work location on that day.

·         April 9th will be an asynchronous day for K-8 students and WGHS will follow their virtual schedule.

·         In preparation for the asynchronous day, K-8 teachers should provide independent work for students to complete on April 9th.  Any materials, assignments, and/or directions for the asynchronous day should be shared or communicated with students by Wednesday, April 7th.

Trauma Informed Educators Network Conference

The Mindful Math Podcast
I wanted to share a podcast that I've recently discovered called The Mindful Math Podcast. Here is a brief description that is full of some very good questions:

How can I find time for myself as a teacher? How can I build a classroom community that supports deep learning of mathematics? What does equitable instruction entail, and what mindsets, opportunities, strategies, and outcomes are necessary to achieve it? How can I teach in a way that reaches all students, including students who enter my class with a lot of unfinished learning? What are the most effective ways to increase access to grade-level math and help ‘bridge the gap’? Welcome to The Mindful Math Podcast where we will answer ALL of these questions and so much more!
