Monday Memo Week of March 13th, 2017

THIS WEEK:

• There are NO after school activities this week due to conferences.
• PTO will be providing dinner for staff Tuesday afterschool at around 3:00
• SPRING CONFERENCES are Tuesday March 14th and Thursday March 16th from 4:00-8:00 PM
• There is NO SCHOOL Friday, March 17th- Spring Break begins.  School resumes Monday, March 27th
• PTO MEETING is Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the library for meeting, 6:00 pm for principal search discussion (see below).  All are welcome!

DISTRICT INVITATION-HIXSON PRINCIPAL SEARCH:
We want your opinion. The Webster Groves School District is seeking input from parents in connection with the search for a new principal for Hixson Middle School. Hx parents are invited to attend a meeting to take part in the development of a leadership profile that will be used in the search process. DATE: 6-7 p.m. March 15, before the PTO meeting PLACE: Hixson library Please plan to attend this important meeting. We hope to see you there!

DISTRICT NEWS:
Come See What’s Happening in Our Schools Today! The Webster Groves School District community is invited to visit classrooms and see the innovative teaching and learning taking place each day. On March 29 and 31, WGSD is opening its doors to welcome the public! Don’t miss this opportunity to get a first-hand look  at the direction of learning here. The day will begin at the district’s central office at 400 E. Lockwood Ave., where participants will board a bus for the tour.  The tour is broken up into morning and afternoon sessions. You can sign up for the full day or part of the day, depending on which buildings you’d like to see. As part of the experience, you’ll also hear from curriculum coordinators, who will fill you in on student expectations and take your questions. Please rsvp by March 27! MAP TESTING IS AROUND THE CORNER:
Parents, please make sure students have earbuds with them for testing.  They will need the earbuds for portions of the assessment.  If you need assistance with earbuds, please contact your grade level counselors.
HIXSON MAP TESTING SCHEDULE:
Andromeda, Orion, Phoenix-April 10-14 (Schedule Flipped, Testing in the Morning) 
Monoceros-April 17-21 (Regular Schedule, Testing in the Afternoon)
Sequoia & Willow-April 17 & 18 (Regular Schedule, Testing in the Morning)
Oak & Hickory-April 19 & 20 (Regular Schedule, Testing in the Morning)

***In addition those students in Algebra will be taking the EOC on April 25 or 26. Thanks.
